Leslie earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Speech Language Pathology from Florida State University and has held the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), a nationally recognized professional credential that represents a level of excellence in the field of Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) since 1990. She is no stranger to the industry, having worked in skilled nursing facilities since 1992.
Before joining Health Connections Rehab Services in April 2016, Leslie worked for one of the largest long-term elderly care companies in the U.S. for 15 years, first as a Director of Rehabilitation and then in 2008 as a Regional Rehab Director. In this role, Leslie was responsible for leading the rehab efforts of seven skilled nursing facilities, with her focus being on developing quality clinical programming through mentoring, teaching and training.
Leslie is passionate for lifelong learning and currently holds the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Award for Continuing Education (ACE) in recognition of continued professional study. She is a certified dementia trainer and certified in Lee Silverman Voice Therapy, McNeil Dysphagia Therapy and VitalStim Therapy. She resides in Tallahassee with her husband and sons.
